The welcomer

“Welcome! Get on the bridge and pass through the gate. Do not be afraid. You will not fall. I will take your hand. Come! Get closer!”

This is what a welcomer said smilingly to the soul of the man. The soul of this man is standing on the edge of the bridge, frightened and worried. He doesn’t know what to do. Just a while ago he died. Then everything came upside down. He cannot comprehend it. For eighty years did he live on Earth. Years of turmoil. Full of anger and violence. “How is it possible?” the soul wonders at the gate of Paradise.

“Look, Mr. Welcomer, you have probably made some mistake. I am not meant for this place. I’m not saying that God has made a mistake. For God’s sake! But perhaps someone with the same name should be here in my place. Take a closer look at your scroll, please”, says the soul.
“Hmm. Let me check carefully… Well, everything is perfectly correct in my scroll. Your soul does belong here. Now, move forward. Take this step. Cross the bridge and come into Paradise…”

So the soul of the man crosses the bridge and starts walking in Paradise. Along his side walks the welcomer. Suddenly the soul says to the welcomer: “Mr. Welcomer, there is a detail I forgot to mention to you. I committed a murder while living on Earth. I murdered my wife with poison. She wouldn’t grant me a divorce. I wanted to spend the rest of my life with a gorgeous young lady. She was thirty years my younger!”
“Ah. No issue. We are aware of this. God is all-merciful and has decided to forgive you. From now on, you shall live eternally in Paradise, in that house.” And shows him a house ahead. A palace!

The soul is speechless.
Unbelievable! Had I known that this is what happens after my death, I would have murdered my mother-in-law, too. I couldn’t stand her at all. She was such a bad influence on my wife. I think this was also a reason I fell in love with the young girl,
thinks the soul of the man to himself.

And so the welcomer marches on, the soul walking by his side. A little later they reach the luxurious house. The soul of the man climbs the marble stairs up to the entrance door. He reaches his hand to open it and get inside.
Then the welcomer who stands a few steps lower, says:
“Ah, there is a detail I forgot to mention to you. Nothing too important. In this house live two more souls.”
“Aah! Very nice! I will also have company!” says the soul.
“Two souls very well-known to you. Those of your wife and your mother-in-law.”
The soul freezes in place on hearing these news, and says: “Mr. Welcomer, is there a chance you could request of God, all-merciful as you said he is, to send me to hell?”
“I am very sorry, soul. God’s decision for you is irrevocable”, says the welcomer and vanishes from sight.

💜
God blesses us always.
Sooner or later we all see.

The gardenia

I hold in my two hands one snow-white gardenia.

I bow my head over her, smell her, inhale her deeply.

My soul rejoices at her magnificent fragrance.

As I exhale, I feel for a few seconds that I have no worry or sadness in my soul.

I feel that I am free as the birds.

I wish the same for all human beings that are on this planet.

God bless you always, Κατερίνα 🙏

If you would like to be receiving little reminders of the Divine Love we are:

.

.

Were the words “Thank you” the only prayer you ever uttered, it would be enough.

~ Meister Eckhart
